TRUMBO

TRUMBO chronicles the life of Blacklisted and Academy Award winning screenwriter Dalton Trumbo, who wrote classics such as SPARTACUS, ROMAN HOLIDAY and THE BRAVE ONE, among many others.  An adaptation of the successful off-Broadway play of the same name, the film uses Trumbo's own words to journey through his life, the Blacklist, and the era of McCarthyism itself.  A prolific writer of letters as well as screenplays, much of the film will be comprised of actors reading the sometimes hilarious, sometimes heartbreaking, and often politically charged words of those letters.  The film will be something more than a documentary feature, and something different than any narrative we've seen before.  Peter Askin, who directed the stage play, will be directing the film.  An amazing A-list cast has been assembled, including Academy Award winners and nominees, some veterans of the play, and even some friends of Trumbo himself.

DIRECTOR: Peter Askin

CAST: Joan Allen, Paul Giamatti, Danny Glover, Nathan Lane, Liam Neeson, David Strathairn, Donald Sutherland, Michael Douglas, Brian Dennehy and Josh Lucas

INTERVIEWS: Kirk Douglas, Walter Bernstein, Victor Navasky, Chris and Mitzi Trumbo, and more.

EDITOR: Kurt Engfehr (Bowling for Columbine, Fahrenheit 9-11)

DOWN THE DIRT ROAD

Tab is running from the law. Alone, out of money and out of options, he is forced to take refuge in an elderly couple's dilapidated farm house on the outskirts of an off-the-map small town. In their senile delusion, the elderly couple believes that Tab is their long lost son and welcomes him into their home. However, the small town becomes less welcoming when he finds himself caught between a local girl, Danah, and her ex-boyfriend - the son of the town sheriff. As he grows closer to the elderly couple, and to Danah, everything comes to a head and he's forced to decide between running again and defending the fate of those he's come to love.

WRITERS: Tony Mosher and Mitch Larson
